The video Scent of Life is integrated into the video installation in front of a soft white rug between two tall areca palms. On another level, the installation is rounded off by paintings.

The video “Scent of Life” links two levels and cultural living spaces. I filmed an acorn tree in Stuttgart at various times of the year. By fading between this footage and still images of street gardens and young people in Cairo, I create a reference to this other cultural sphere, where gardens are kept in the streets. The viewer must allow their view to wander and find the power behind the scent of life. (Text by Barbara Armbruster)
